Hello, my dear reader,
today I feel very powerful. So I have decided to promote you to the position of CEO.
Congratulations.
You are a real CEO now.
Not later! Now!
What do I mean by that?
In this information age, our most valuable asset is our earning ability. Not “learning ability”! Lifelong learning is compulsory to stay employable. We have to continuously upgrade our skills & replace old skills with new ones.
Nobody can expect lifelong employment, but each one of us can create lifelong employability.
This requires a mindset change from seeing us as an employee to viewing us as being self-employed.
Everyone is self-employed.
Everyone has value to give.
You are the CEO of your own ME Pte. Ltd. with one employee selling your services to your current employer & receiving fees in the form of salaries or commissions for the value & the results of what you deliver.
No choice, you have to take care of your own business. You have to TACOMOB – daily.
Over the long term, you determine the size of your own paycheck/revenue. It is your investment in your knowledge & skills and the application of your knowledge & skills that determine how much you receive.
You are Head of Sales, finance, production, marketing, quality control & R&D.
And your boss is not your boss any longer.
He is your customer! Presently, even your top customer.
So, let me ask you:
What’s your brand?
What do you stand for?
What is the mission statement of your Me Pte Ltd?
And do you have your own personal set of values to guide you through your daily life?

Hi Andy,
I realised I miss so many of your posts. Not sure why it didnt pop up on my blog when u have new entries.
This is interesting, never thought of my brand, company mission.
Value creation for cistomers and staff.
I think as a CEO, I am going to continue to seek partners and investors. Will expand till we can go solo
You can not have missed too many posts as I am not posting so frequently lately.
Do you think taking this entrepreneurial perspective is helpful?
