Unfortunately, there is this thing called the ‘hedonic treadmill’.

The way you feel about money dictates how much of it you have, your feelings about earning it, spending it & saving it, it affects your entire economic situation.

Here are 11 random thoughts on money

1️⃣ Money is a medium that distracts us from happiness.

2️⃣ Money is not the root of all evil; the love of money is.

3️⃣ Look at money as a necessary evil & you become a slave to it. Look at money as fuel for the life you want to live & money serves you. View money as a byproduct of providing value & you can enjoy it.

4️⃣ Money buys you freedom – Think twice before you spend your money because every time you buy something, you’re giving up a bit of freedom & time. The more money you have, the more freedom you have to do work you enjoy. And at some point, you don’t even have to work for money at all. But not if you keep spending all your money today.

5️⃣ How much money you need to be happy is driven more by your expectations than your income. Don’t obsess about your haves; manage your wants, instead.

6️⃣ If you don’t have the ability to save & live below your means you will never truly build wealth. This is true no matter how much money you make. Wealth is failing to keep up with the Joneses (at least when it comes to buying stuff). Wealth is what you don’t see.

7️⃣ Investing your money is not just about building wealth, it’s also about NOT destroying wealth.

8️⃣ More money won’t make your job more enjoyable. Ask yourself how many people you know have left a job for less money.

9️⃣ Some very well-paid people are among the most disengaged. And disengaged white-collar workers are more likely than others to be looking for a job. 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗮 𝗯𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝗽𝗮𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗹𝗼𝘆𝗮𝗹𝘁𝘆.

🔟 Money should be the reward, but not the reason. Money is a side effect of success, not an end goal. Money tips are great to start with because you will be short on money in the beginning. But at the end of the day, what gets you going shouldn’t be the craving for more money.
