What is Wealth to You?

Managing Money is easy.
Managing Wealth isn’t.

We quantify what’s easily countable, not what matters most.

Wealth isn’t as easily defined.

But it’s quite impossible to manage something we haven’t defined for ourselves.

I say wealth is a relative feeling.

Some people compare their level of wealth to other people.

Some people compare their level of wealth to their previous levels of wealth.

Some people think of wealth in terms of the material possessions they own.

Some people think of wealth in terms of how much money they make.

And some people compare their level of wealth to a number or benchmark that they think will make them feel wealthy.

The weird thing about money is that there can be a big difference between how much you think you need to feel wealthy & how the money makes you feel at certain levels of net worth.

Back to the roots:
The word wealth actually derives from ‘wel’ as in well-being – ‘in a state of good fortune, welfare, or happiness.’

So, what creates the state of true wealth?

It’s hard to consider yourself wealthy if you still worry about money all the time.

Might it be possible to minimize our financial stress by doing a few simple things?

You don’t have to turn your life upside down.

You just have to change the way you think about money.

That one sentence taught me the value of money.

What about you?
What’s wealth to you?

Luckily, there are many different definitions when it comes to feeling wealthy. You just have to find the one that suits your personality & circumstances.

Might feeling wealthy have nothing to do with how much money we have?

First Alternative Form of Wealth: I can say, “I have no idea” when I have no idea.

Second Alternative Form of Wealth: I have peace of mind.

Over to you.
